I do not recommend this hotel. It has been five months since my very very disappointed experience at this hotel. I stayed there last August and it was the most miserable experience of the entire six weeks I spent in Scotland. No air conditioning in the entire hotel. I paid over $350.00 per night due to The Fringe taking place. I tried to check out and was told by Marriott corporate that since I had already checked in I would be charged for the entire three nights. The room was small for a residence inn and not very clean. They offered me a fan for the room and told me to open the windows. What a joke!! It is not in a good location unless you are interested in the university. I did stay in different hotel while in Edinburgh which were less money with excellent locations. I am also a Bonvoy credit card holder which I thought would amount to something when I tried to cancel after checking in. It did not amount to anything. How disappointing.
Great and solid place. Had a queen sized bed and the room itself was spacious that came with a kitchen which I wasn’t expecting. Would def recommend if you’re visiting Edinburgh longer term. Stayed for 4 nights and was perfect for what I needed
The room had no air conditioning, there was no water strip to prevent water from coming out of the shower, and our sink was very slow to drain. However, the customer service with the front desk was incredible. They brought us a HUGE fan. The windows opened enough where we could open them when we got there and the room was cooled off by bedtime. The breakfast was good, not very expansive, but the food was nice and the coffee was great. The laundrette was free, but you need your own soap. The dryers took forever, but they cleaned our clothes nicely. It is a bit further away from all of the sights to see. The customer service of this hotel was the saving grace of this hotel. I would stay here again, just not in summer.
The breakfast needs black pudding.
There is a permanent humming noise in my room from a nearby loo.
I can't go on the balcony.
However the beds are very comfy, the rooms very good and dark, and it's a set up which has everything you could possibly need.
Oh; the coffee machine at breakfast was a bit of a let down.
Thank you so much for the kind arrangement. Despite during the super busy festival season, Residence Inn managed to arrange my two rooms on the same floor. To my surprise, they prepared breakfast bags for us due to our early departure to the airport. That was a very warm touch. The hotel management made you feel welcomed and being taken care of. Running by a group of enthusiastic personnel, with a smile on their faces, I wish Residence Inn Edinburgh a big success.
I like the location because it is quite spot although there are closer options to the city center. Some staff in the reception are so friendly and helpful like "Cormac" and "Marga". Others are below average. Breakfast is limited but I believe sufficient to get started in the day. The room and bath are small.
Room is warm, pack light pj’s.
Breakfast isn’t too tasty.. normal heavy oily greasy foods.
Staff are friendly.
Room service is done late in the evening.
This hotel was fantastic. Chris, Sabine, Cormac and the entire staff were great. The morning breakfast was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again. Great job!
